Yes, for those that have been waiting the Academy website is beginning to be updated to welcome the class of 2012. In addition to the profile above, there's a welcome to the class of 2012. I expect they're working on R Day sections next.

R Day Schedule items are started to be posted for 6/29-30. The "Schedule for events Sunday June 29th" link (as of 2:30 Tuesday) is still linking to the 7/1/07 schedule but other items on page appear to be for class of 2012.

I hate to be the skunk at the picnic but that is the profile from the Class of 2011...they apparently haven't updated this year's yet.

Last year Class of 2011 profile says 391 appointments for 272 slots - the above quote says 341 for 275.

2011 profile also says that 1250 was the average SAT and this one says the average is 1275.

Would they change the numbers if the data is from the same class profile?

No question that they are close enough, but I wonder why they would change them?

Yep, the numbers are exactly the same. Bossf51 is correct.

But the 2011 profile they have posted here ( United States Coast Guard Academy - The Academy at a Glance ) has a few differences.

It appears that they simply changed the header on the R-Day section of the web site without changing the data! Doh!

This is a 2011 fact for sure.

It does look like some cutting and paste is being done on the academy web site.

One other note: It seems it happens every year in 2011, 275 appointments where accepted but on R-Day only 272 where sworn in. 3 drop either before the end of R -day or did not show up.
