Class of 2012 Profile - ver 2.0

The real one this time.
  • U.S. cadets hail from 41 states with five coming from Germany, Japan, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

  • 79% of the class intends to major in engineering, math or science.

  • 28% of the class is female.

  • 13% of the class is from underrepresented racial groups.

  • Over 50% come from families whose immediate members are in or were in a branch of the U.S. military.

  • Overall, the SAT average for the class is 1260 (critical reading and math).

  • 2804 students submitted an application; 380 were offered appointments
    and 294 individuals will swear-in on R-Day.

Bigger class...

than I anticipated.

Now they just need to straighten out the links for R-Day schedules, etc.

Yeah it's a tricky thing...you have to make enough offers to fill the classs...but then if "everybody" accepts you have a bigger than anticipated class...my son's had 307 because so many people accepted. Anyway good luck to everybody and I hope to be there on R-day to see you all.
