| A Tough Decision..
I'm going into my junior year this fall in a Philadelphia suburb high school. I've been in the competitive, physically demanding, and time consuming marching band for two years. My school has never offered volleyball as a school sport until this year. Because both are such big committments, it would be impossible for me to do both. I love being in the marching band, but I also love volleyball. I have seen the competition and feel fairly confident that I could be on the varsity team if I did volleyball. As much as I would hate to not do either one, I know that I would not be able to do both. My first choice for college is the Coast Guard Academy, and I am at the top of my class academically, so this could be the determining factor in my admittance. I know that they are looking for athletic people and that plays a big part in the acceptance process, but would 4 years of competition marching band or 2 years of marching band and 2 years of varsity volleyball look better on my application? I've sent an e-mail to the Academy asking for their input, but I have been waiting for a response for a few days now. Thanks for any input, I would love to hear your responses!
