How does my application look?

I was wondering how competitive my application was...
GPA: 4.014
ACT: Composite 31 English 35 Math 26 Reading 32 Science 32 Writing 08
SAT: CR 680 Math 640 Writing 620
Boys State Delegate
President of NHS
Employee of the Year at part-time job (Have worked a job since freshman year)
Swimming-11th, 12th

Thank you for all of your comments and/or advise on how to strengthen my application

I would say that you are a very strong candidate based on the stats provided. You may be a little weak as far as leadership positions are concerned. Any chance you will be a captain of any of your sports teams this year? Besides that it looks good. I would urge that you get your application in under the Early Action option. Good luck.

Math courses

I'd also suggest taking the most advanced math courses you can this year, and don't slack off on your senior courseload.

And I agree with Boss on the early application deadline of Nov. 1.

It looks pretty good to me! I am definitely applying on the first of September for early action. I went to the first week of AIM and it was totally awesome. I was a little unsure at the beginning but I've always been fond of the military and the service academies so AIM completely sold me on the United States Coast Guard Academy. It's absolutely my first choice. So if you want to apply, I would really look into early action for this year. Your SAT and ACT scores are really solid but I agree with the leadership thing. Try looking for opportunities in your community and school to be of service.

Keep up that great enthusiasm, but don't expect the application to show up on September 1.

As long as your completed application is in by November 1, you will be eligible for EA.

You may also want to make contact with your Admissions Officer to schedule an interview with your local AAP. Although the interview is optional, it is highly recommended.

Thank you

Thank you Luigi59, I'll make sure to contact my admissions officer for an interview. I was speaking to one of my friends, who is currently a 1/c regimental staff for the Coast Guard Academy, and he strongly encouraged me to try and get and interview. He said that it would help bolster my chances and that they would see more of me that was not necessarily on the application.
So thank you for the advice and I will keep posting on how the application process goes!
