Granted, college rankings are pretty lame, including US News, but check out where Colby was in this one! Since magazines seem bound and determined to rank colleges and people actually do pay some attention, it's kind of satisfying to come out ahead of most of the Ivy League, a lot of the NESCAC and a ton of other great schools.
That's an interesting list. Especially because a school like Dartmouth comes in 98th, behind many "no name" colleges. I wonder what Forbes's ranking criteria were.
The magazine entered the rankings fray last year and focuses on five criteria: graduation rates, number of national and global awards to students and faculty; student satisfaction (from RateMyProfessors.com), average debt upon graduation and postgraduate success, based on average salaries of recent graduates and listings in Who's Who in America.
Forbes is all about the money. A right wing rag with no credibility. Anything run by Steve "flat tax" Forbes and featured regularly on Faux...er Fox News isn't worth the onion skin it is printed on.
