So I've fallen for Colgate...

I hate to ask, but if anyone could offer advice, I'd love it. =) I'm a prospective molecular biology major working towards pre-vet~

GPA UW: 3.82 All A range grades on transcript except for one B+ in freshman year.
School does not rank: Top 3% out of 722 students.
Most rigorous courseload (APs, Honors, etc), will have taken eight APs by the end of senior year, four of which are science-related. Also took elective courses in Advanced Zoology and Anatomy and Physiology.
SAT: M690 CR750 V730
SATII: (yuck) Chem 660 Math IC 650
Excellent recc's from AP English and AP Chemistry teachers.
Excellent EC's... lots of involvement in music-related activities (flute), marching band drum major, varsity golf and JV tennis, Robotics team (heavy involvement),varsity quiz bowl team, lots of other smaller clubs~ lots of involvement with horses/towards my career aspirations as a veterinarian. Community service.
I like my essays, so hopefully they will as well. I'm sending in a portfolio of some of my artwork, equine-related... a more artistic sketch, one of the muscular system, and a realistic shaded drawing. Yep!

Hmm... I alos presented my love of horses in Colgate's essay and I didn't get in the first time.... but then again, you have much higher numbers than I did. So let's hope that YOU get in so you can join our fabulous equestrian team Yeah, I got in the second time because I wrote about horses in my EC essay, apparently the more important one

Hm... I have two essays I was debating on using for the commonapp EC essay but I was rejected ED from Cornell with it (which was a huge surprise and dissapointment =/ but I'm kind of glad, because I really like Colgate) and changed it to something music related... would you mind if I PMed them to you and you can give me an opinion on which to use?

Rachell!!!

Ah, the rejection was horrible. :/ But who knows, maybe it's for the better. For us pre-vets who intend on attending Cornell for vet school, maybe it's better not to be in the same spot for 9 years~

But I'm still a little bitter. lol Colgate looks really great though... I spoke with a current pre-vet student who said everything is fantastic at Colgate and completely reccomended it. A lot of undergrads get wonderful research and intern opportunities since there aren't so many graduates to focus on...

Well, things will work out for the both of us, I'm sure. Good luck!

Thanks! I wasn't planning on going EDII, but Colgate won me over... especially considering the other colleges I was applying to. I hope everything works out wonderfully with your RD applications.

I believe around February 15. It'd be a nice Valentine's gift.
