Alumni Memorial Scholar!

Did anyone else who applied to Colgate get a letter in the mail today telling them that they were an alumni memorial scholar? If so, congratulations. I just went to my mailbox a few minutes ago, saw a thick envalope from Colgate, and went nuts. Yay. I probabley should have waited to celebrate 'till I got back up to my appartment, 'cuase I fell tripped going up a flight of stairs, but whatever. Yeah!

I actually don't have an IM. I used to when I was younger, but I don't even remember what it was.

Congratulations, Jvhowube. When I called Colgate this morning to see if I could find out about the AMS by phone (before the mal got here)(and they wouldn't tell me anything), they said that they were still in the process of selecting Alumni Memorial Scholars, so you still might be an AMS, existentialpony.

Actually she might not be because she's already binded in a contract with Colgate so they have her for good. If she applied RD, she might be because AMS is used to attract people who otherwise would've picked top LACs and Ivies over Colgate. Like STRIDE at Smith.

But congratulations to both of you!

Hey guys- just got the letter from Colgate! I was really surprised because I wasn't expecting decisions from my RD schools to come so early. Can anybody tell me anything more about the AMS program? Congratulations to everyone accepted!

Yeah I got in too. Didn't even know the program existed until I got the letter.

What does "covers all on-campus expenses" mean?

This is a link to the AMS page: http://www.colgate.edu/desktopdefault1.aspx?tabID=588 . Being an AMS scholar basically means that you were one of the top 200 applicants to Colgate, and that you get a $5000 stipend an get to go to special events.

Is anyone going to the visit Colgate days or whatever it's called for Alumni Memorial Scholars on April 11-12/17-18? And is this a thing that's just for AMS or is it for everyone who got accepted?
