i was just waitlisted... what does this mean... what are my chances of actually getting in?

I was too. It means that they accepted a certain number of applicants, but they expect a smaller number than that to actually enroll. They have a certain number that they want for their class of 2010, and if a lower number than that actually enrolls, then they will accept some of those on the waitlist. It depends entirely on how many that were accepted chose to enroll. Your chances of getting in? Not huge.

I was also waitlisted and now i understand why its always referred to as purgatory. I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up because i know the number they ultimately take WL fluctuates...ahhh! Are you guys doing anything about it?

If you really want to get off the waitlist you have to be proactive. call the school, try to set up meetings with the admissions staff, send letters, all the while making sure to get the point across that its your dream school.

I'm not getting my hopes up either, but I'm still going to do my very best to get off that waitlist.

what do you mean? BC has a really beautiful campus and is what i consider to be the perfect level of accessibility to downtown boston. colgate is so isolated by comparison...hell, its isolated by any standards...

I got into BC and Columbia last year and chose Colgate. Couldn't be happier. The social scene is much better, the student body is much more tight-knit, and the education is superior to BC. Columbia I just didn't want to have to deal with the kinds of people who go there...

aid?

Does Colgate offer financial aid to those lucky enough to be offered admission from the waiting list?
