I was talking with my parents about these two schools (I got in at Grinnell, waitlisted at Colgate). We all agreed that these two schools were similar in almost every aspect except for location, size, and feel. I also got in at Dickinson, but so far, I'm leaning towards Grinnell. I want to know what should I do if I do get admitted to Colgate from the waitlist, which of the two should I attend? Any bits and pieces of advice/information are welcome.

Are you kidding me, "similar in everthing except size, location, and feel" so how exactly are they similar. Sounds to me like they quite different. Personally i would choose colgate buts just because grinnell just doesnt roll of the tongue quite like colgate. I go to grrriiinneelll. No definitly colgate

Just visit both schools!

I guess it depends on what you like. Grinnell seems a bit more liberal artsy, Colgate's more jocky it seems, lots of hills and athletic people. I like Grinnell because most people at Grinnell were probably the sort of quirky/geeky kids. Also, Grinnell's better known for it's tough courseload. It depends on what you're looking for, I bet if you specified what you wanted in a school we'd be able to help you.

For me...Grinnell has a more diverse population, smaller size, flatter and less cold, quirkier, less athletic, smaller townness, not as widespread study abroad program.

Colgate, it seems to me, is more well known, more scenic campus...

At Grinnell, the course load definitely attracted me. But I also know that Colgate has more recognition with its name. More people know where Colgate is unlike Grinnell, but that just maybe because I'm from the South. But it's so hard to say what I want specifically when both schools have unique attractions.

Also, the tennis coach at Grinnell wants me more. Colgate also has D1 sports, but I have had contact with the coach. Should I let that impact my choice?

I also noticed that the academics are similar, and so are the class sizes.
