Colgate Vs. Syracuse

I'm posting up for a friend who is having a hard choice of which school to matriculate into next year. She has narrowed her acceptances to Syracuse and Colgate. Both of them are great schools in her opinion, and so, making the decision even harder. Both college gave her [practically] full-rides to their respective schools. And so, she’s torn between the two. I'm posting in hopes to receive both sides of the question (another thread will be posted in the other college’s thread). She is thinking about majoring in the science field; however, not particularly the pre-med concentration. Moreover, would it be harmful or difficult to switch out of the originally stated science major into something in a different field? Lastly, in your own opinion, what would you say are the pros and cons of your respective university?

Thanks for your help all. Greatly appreciated. :]

I don't know if it's just me but I believe Colgate is MUCH more prestigious and respected than Syracuse. I really don't know much at all about Syracuse, but Colgate is an amazing school that your friend would be lucky to attend. Much more selective, too. (PS this isn't a biased opinion, I didn't even apply to Colgate after I visited.)

I find this question hard to take seriously, unless there is more to it, like money or special interests, but your question indicates that it is not. (A fetish for Jim Boeheim? Big time NCAA sports in general? ). I attended Law School at Syracuse, and ate in two of the Dorms near the school. Some undergraduate coeds used to come to our library (though it was generally accepted that it wasn't to study) and I occassionally interacted with others while there.

Neither prestige wise nor student wise, nor fun wise would I compare SU with CU. Heck the campus isn't even that nice.

What aspect is she undecided about?
