Housing

what are the best housing options? which one has the 4 person suites/quads, and which ones suck

i just decided to go to colgate a few days ago, so i still havent filled or even gotten my housing preference form... does this mean im screwed with housing and will get the crappiest one? or is it all random later...

Housing forms are sent to all incoming students in the summer. If you look on the Colgate website, the freshman dorms are all described there(photos too), and it says which dorms have quads, triples, doubles, etc. The one dorm kids seem to not want to be in is Gate House.

It's actually a temporary house... built in one single summer to handle the influx of students (over-enrollment) several years ago... So... imagine that versus taking at least a year to build an actual dorm.

It's a lottery. You'll fill out housing forms early this summer, specifying what size room you want (single, double, triple, quad), and answering questions like are you neat? study in room or out?, etc. Then in August you'll find out what dorm you are in and who your roommate(s) are.

The other downside to Gate House is that it is located a bit away from the other freshman dorms.

You rank your preferences for room size.

Colgate has only sent me one thing since the acceptance packet, and it was a stupid survey. I really wish they would send me more stuff or even e-mail me. I'm pretty dissapointed with them because of the lack of communication.

relax! I know you're very excited but right now they're trying to work with the seniors and getting them to graduate. Once that's over, they'll start focusing on you guys!
