What stonecold23 means is...

Are the minorities at Colgate american minorities (e.g. african americas, asian americans, hispanic-americans), at least first generation. Or are the minorites at Colgate immigrants/international students?

I think that's what you mean.

It's kind of difficult to separate those two because the statistics push them together. I mean, a Chinese student would be double-counted- for international AND for Asian minority. But I would say that there are more American minorities (by your definition) than the actual internationals.

from USNews:
African-American 4%
Asian-American 6%
Hispanic 4%
Native American 1%
White 80%
International 5%

mod-low minority #'s compared to the top LACs.

yeah they dont have a lot of diversity there...but i think in general people are accepting and nice, so thats better than being at a school with lots of diversity and no interaction between groups

Colossus, that couldn't be further from the truth. The school is trying to address diversity issues by taking more minorities, not fewer. Trust me, it's a big issue on campus and with alums.

I guess Colossus' posts were somehow removed. Is someone monitoring what 'appropriate' answers should be?

He claimed Colgate admins wanted to make the school 95% white and heard this from "people in the know" at golf outings, square dances and polo matches. Among other things, he also mocked potential Wash U students who were concerned about too much drinking and partying, but don't know if those threads were deleted too.
