Work Study Jobs

Is there much choice in what kind of job/ what hours you get? And I haven't heard anything from Colgate about it yet, do i need to contact them or fill out any forms? Or do they cntact u once school starts?

They do not contact you. You have to look on the portal to find jobs, and apply for what you want. There are some things, like life guarding, that I believe are more of a word of mouth thing.

As far as choices, there is pretty much your standard mix of jobs. Some jobs have set hours. Others let you chose. I worked six hours a week. I don't think you'll find a school job with more than 15 hours. You could also work for a business downtown.

When do you start applying? It seems like we must wait until we get our course schedule.

I applied for my job the first or second week of classes. I know my roommate had a job lined up before he got on campus.
