ED2 or RD?

Hi guys,

Do I have a much higher chance of getting accepted into the college with ED2 than RD? I'm a male Asian requiring financial aid. I got 1510 for CR+Maths along with a bunch of ECA and leadership positions. My essay should be alright and recommendations are good since the teachers like me.

It depends. If Colgate is your top choice I would certainly apply ED2. Your chance of being accepted is increased with ED2 (I think the ED2 acceptance rate is apx = to the ED1 acceptance rate). If Colgate's not your choice I would go w/RD.

Also, look at the admission stats not just the acceptance rate...I know for my class the stats were almost identifcal for ED 1 and RD.

By applying ED 1 or 2 you are showing Colgate that you REALLY want to be on campus - that is worth a lot.

Does Colgate actually publish different profiles for ED vs RD pools?

Yes, they do. Or at least they do on campus.

Gellino...do you go to Colgate now? Or?

Really? I know they publish the acceptance %'s for ED and RD separately, but do they provide the other stats too? I haven't seen that.

Acceptance rates is as far of a breakdown as they will provide for ED/RD.
