RD Accepted!

I got accepted to Colgate today, through regular decision. I also got accepted as an Alumni Memorial Scholar. It said on the letter that I would get research grants of up to $5000 renewable a year. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other perks given to a Scholar. Thanks in advance.

Eventer: Yea I applied ED to Princeton, got deferred.

Boonie: I had 800 MT 740 CR and 660 WR, had some leadership positions, wrote a pretty good essay. Wrote an research paper that's going to be presented at a conference. More info if you search for my chances post, though some of that stuff might be dated.

Colgate seems like a great place, and they offered me an amazing package (almost full tuition). I wasn't expecting to get into AMS (heck, I didn't even know about it)

My first choice back in the day was Princeton too and ended up at Colgate (before the days of the AMS, although don't know if I would have qualified anyway). After Dartmouth and Williams, there are probably more Princeton rejects at Colgate than any other school (maybe Cornell too, but about 1/3 of 'Gaters get in there). Best of luck to all you guys.

Congrats to both of you!!!

To clarify about the AMS grant- it's actually one time. You have $5,000 to spend over the course of four years. I actually sat in a friend's presentation (she did WorldTeach in China for the summer) and saw some of the other AMS' presentations- they did a lot of traveling for their research... really interesting stuff. Even though you have that kind of limit, there is so much that you can do to create a huge project... start dreaming now

Hey, aspiringpat! Congrats on your acceptance! Where in Romania are you... I'm a neighbor from Bulgaria, currently first year at Colgate. This is a great place Are you seriously thinking of coming here or did you get accepted to some other place you want to go to?

Hey, princessofdawn! I'm from a city close to the capital of Romania. Where in Bulgaria are you?

The Colgate acceptance letter was the first one I received, so I am first going to wait for the other decisions before I decide where to go. Nonetheless, I am very excited about Colgate and the offer they made me was absolutely amazing!

Are there many students from Eastern Europe at Colgate?
