Agree with the comment re: need-based aid. Colgate was much more generous to D than Rochester, Union, or Bucknell, though all received the same financial info.
Financial aid officer mentioned to me during accepted student days that Colgate is trying to sensitive to the financial aid squeeze experienced by the middle class.
