My Colgate

Has anyone logged on to check the status of their application lately. I checked for D today and it now states no data for _(her name)____. Before it had all of the requirements listed and a check mark next to them to acknowledge receipt. Do you think this change means anything?

No. When I applied, I was religious about checking the status of my application (especially as I submitted new materials) and found that the "My Colgate" site is quite defficient. It said many times that there was an error in loading the information or even that there was no data at all. However, you should trust that it is simply the site that is producing this rather than the admission department. It would be odd if they were to in any way indicate the status (accepted/waitlisted/denied) on the website proir to the deadline. I know because the "My Application" tab is still unchanged. If you have any questions regarding the application status and the website is acting up, just call the admissions department. Its the only way to be sure.

I came here looking to see if I was the only one. Glad to see I am not. I only check to see if it mentions anything about mid-year reports, since I know mine has been sent in. I also can log into MyColgate, but the "Application Status" tab isn't there. I don't expect any change in my application status, but it was odd to have it not there.

The "Application Status" tab is back again. My application status has not changed, so I'd imagine it was just a fluke on the website itself.

Mid Year Grades

The my application page is a bit confusing, as it shows all my D's required items with a green check next to them, yet at the bottom of the page says something about downloading and sending in Mid year report grades. Her school guidance counsellor was supposed to have done that weeks ago (for all the schools she applied to) and we assumed it had been done. Does anyone - who knows that their mid year grades have been sent in - have the reference to the necessity for mid year grades to be sent?

Should the grades have been sent in by now? Of course, but its nothing you cant fix by sending the in ASAP. Many schools such as my own have a late end to the second quarter, thus, not allowing me to submit my grades along with my application. However, what I did learn how Colgate admissions handles incomplete applications. After all, I filed my CSS Proflie form a month late and my application was deemed incomplete. What they do is delay the final review of the application. The application most likly has still been read several times, but they cannot act until you send in the grades. I suggest calling the admission office, notify them of your situation, and sending the grades up ASAP. That should solve the problem.

As far as I can tell, that statement about mid-year grades does not change, even if they have been received. My son has already been admitted and I just checked his status and it is still there. I wouldn't worry. You might call or email the admissions office just to check, but most likely, if your school said they were sentthe grades, they have been received.
