Can someone tell me more about AMS? Thanks~~

I am accepted as AMS(alumni memorial scholar) but i'm not clear about that.

My daughter is a sophmore and an AMS. Besides the 5K, you could do as little as that or take part in other activities. Last year they went to NYC, they have discussion groups, speakers etc. I will tell you, when we dropped her off at school, we had lots of attention from staff that her roommates did not because of AMS. She had a difficult adjustment but as a sophmore, she has found her niche and really likes colgate.

AMS is basically a group of students which are supposedly the best of each class (which is determined prior to enrollment). They get special perks like more speakers, special luncheons and dinners, and paid activities like going to Syracuse to watch Phantom of the Opera.

The 5000 dollars is research grant money, but you will have to write a proposal and get it approved before you ca use it.
