Chances?

White male
Arkansas
EFC: 0
GPA- 3.42
ACT- 32
No AP's or SAT Subject Tests
Graduated with a class of 13.
Taking time off between HS and college. Working on some research and traveling.

Very good rec(s). Done by Science teacher/Quiz Bowl coach/Assistant baseball coach and my Math teacher.

Essays: I am hoping they will be received well. Writing is my strong point and, hopefully, it will shine through in my essays.

Academic Honors

Quiz Bowl (All-State 9,11,12), (Captain 9,10,11,12)

EAST Ambassador to the National Convention (10,11)

Extracurriculars

Community Service: Volunteered over 700 hours at a local Jr. High. as a graduate assistant coach.

Quiz Bowl:10 hrs/40 weeks. As noted above, recognized at the state level. Was also captain all four years.

Varsity Baseball: Not measurable due to American Legion/gaudy amount of practice. All-Region (11,12), All-Conference (9,10,11,12), Captain (11,12)

Misc. Information
About to have some poetry published. Also, working on some research regarding baseball statistics. While I could possibly be a recruited athlete, I do not wish to play baseball in college so please do not take that into factor.

A 3.4 with no APs seriously damages your chances, but every applicant is different and maybe Colgate will see something in ur essays

if u are in love with Gate, id apply...if its like...w/e, then i wouldnt

(i did ED)

Also, the Admissions Officers' who read your application will know your school and be able to see if you've challenged yourself - and succeeded - at your school; some high schools don't offer APs, and that's something that the application readers know.

Also, just like JBou said; if you love Colgate, APPLY! Clearly you only have a chance if you apply, and it's about making your case for why you're a fit for Colgate (and if you love it, there's probably a reason why/a good fit).

You will be admitted to Colgate. Arkansas, 32 ACT, class of 13 students. I'll bet that you even get a free trip out of this. 100% in!

I don't think Colgate even has a varsity baseball team any more. I think you would be a unique enough candidate that you would probably get in.

yeah, they like to collect the states, and I promise Arkansas applicants are not abundant. Also, you're clearly pretty bright if you got a 32 ACT. Class of thriteen, though? That's hilarious.
