1330 (they don't look at writing, which you should be happy about) is pretty average for them. It's good that you have athleticism and that you've dedicated a lot of time to a few ECs instead of fluffing your resume. That said, they have plenty of white males from New England applying. Are you a recruited athlete? Then you're in. If not, ok chances.

How do you see yourself at Colgate? What do you plan on doing?

well to tell you the truth I haven't decided on a major, but I'm thinking something science-oriented (engineering? alternative energy engineering?), which made colgate stand out, especially with their relatively new science building.

I don't think it matters as long as you have a strong score in one or the other. I only got a 31 composite on my ACT and 1980 ish SAT and got in yesterday by ED. Also, just a quick question, when you say skiing for four years what do you mean? If you mean Ski racing/ski club then keep it as its quite respectable but if you are just saying that you have been skiing for four years I don't think you should put it on there. I've been skiing since I was two and I don't think they would really care about that unless it is a big hobby that you devote boat loads of time to and one that influences your decisions in life. They like to see that you are active but going up a few times a year to go skiing isn't something that they are looking for when asking for EC's I wouldn't think.

Sorry for the bad grammar/pronoun agreement in the above post. I'm really tired.

well our school has a ski club (downhill) where we go for a day every sunday or every other. It's not competitive, but I spend a lot of time skiing and I think it's not necessarily the fact that they'd care about skiing but that I've dedicated a lot of my time to it which might show devotion. It's also something that not all kids across the country can say they do so I thought I'd add it.

That's fine. Leave it. I rode horses for fun, occasionally in competitions, for YEARS and because it's such a huge part of my life, it was on the top of my EC list. It's just basically a list of what do you do outside of school besides wii, tv, music, and internet.
