Discouraged

Kind of discouraging to know that half of the admitted students to the "gate" for 09 have already been accepted . The rest of us (8,000++) will have to fight it out for the remaining 350 + or - spots.

That isn't really anything new for Colgate to have ED acceptees to take up a fair portion of the total admitted pool. They really do favor those people- Colgate is really about commitment. You still have the EDII to go if you want to increase your chances and you'll go to Colgate if you were accepted, like it's your first choice school. Although a bit pricey, Colgate really does offer a lot of financial aid awards to middle-class families.

what about families that make 170K but aren't giving any money to their possibly colgate-bound son? Yeah, didn't think so. Thats why I didn't go ed.
