No. They put up with it. Seriously, it's about comfort over style and well, NYC people are more interested in wearing uggs which basically has no traction to another brand that has better traction, you see? The average is about 25 degrees throughout winter and we do get looottsss of snow (and it's really pretty!). It's just so awesome being out in the countryside seeing the unspoiled, white (really white) snow that you don't really think too much of the cold.

I went to school in upstate NY with comprable weather to Colgate. As a student you just get used to it & it becomes a "no big deal". The campus is beautiful & I think you can't help but admire it w/ the snow & cold as you walk to class or the librairy. The good thing is you definitely keep up your work ethic in the cold weather.

Although winter may come about 15 days earlier than in NYC, You still have 4 seasons so do bring shorts; Sept will have some hot days and in May you could get a tan!

Yes, it is really that cold. Winter is longer in upstate NY. Having said that, students just deal with it. But if you really hate the cold .... it's there.
