Colgate Chats: What's appropriate to talk and what isn't?

I've been getting the Colgate Chat invitations for a while now and thought I'd give the March one a try! That's not the only reason though, I've been researching Colgate for a while and I really like it too

What's an appropriate question to ask? Is anything out of bounds?

The questions I'm planning on asking range from a TOEFL waiver (English isn't my first language but I've been in America for over 5 years and all my school elsewhere was in English. I don't feel like shelling out $150+ to prove that I can speak English) and a mini "chance me" (3.3 GPA and a 32 ACT - first try, I didn't study at all so I might retake it to hopefully compensate for the GPA) to, should I apply for financial aid (I don't have my green card and my need is pretty big) given my not so fabulous GPA (My parents got divorced Sophomore Year and I worked part time - my counselor knows about the divorce, so I'm hoping she mentions this in the rec).

Thanks!

(Oh and what do you think about me having a shot at Colgate and the financial aid dilemma?)

Colgate chats aren't designed to "Chance Me!" They're designed for you to get information from them about Colgate, the students, academics, etc.

Ya that's what I thought =/ So should the questions be geared towards life in Colgate rather than admissions related questions?

You can always just log in and read what everyone else asks. Note, Colgate is need-aware with regards to financial need for all applicants.

btw: IMO, one should never ask a question that is easily found on the college's website, such as, 'wut is your avg SAT score?', or 'do you have football team?', or 'do you have a biology major?' .....The wonderful adcoms will politely answer each and every question, but IMO it is WASTING their time.
