How is the Biology dept/major?

There are only two or three professors with Molecular biology experience and one professor from Chemistry Dept with Biochemistry background. Should I go to a LAC (Colgate) or a research university (UR) if I am interested in biology and pre-med?

Remember, departments will be on a smaller scale than at big research universities. One of the nicest things about this is, especially for the sciences, that you will interact with these professors a lot over the course of four years and they will give you plenty of lab research experience, possibly as early as second-semester freshman year!

We've done well on the pre-med front in terms of acceptance rates into med school... it's pretty cut-throat, just like any other school.
