merit scholarship question

So I have been accepted to Colgate for fall of 2009! I went and visited it and loved it-- however now that decision time is coming I have to actually pick and I would love to pick Colgate. However, I received substantial merit aid at some other schools. I have heard that if you contact admissions at one school and tell them that you got merit at other schools that sometimes they will give you more. Is it stupid to ask Colgate when I didn't receive any merit from them? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that, other than the Alumni Memorial Scholars (AMS - the top 100 applicants) that Colgate does not offer any other merit aid.

They might offer more grants. Give them a try.
