I really like Colgate and schools like Colgate such as Hamilton, Union, Bowdoin, Bates, and Cornell (well at least its in the same area). However, Im more interested in Hamilton and Colgate. What are the adcoms really looking for? Whats going to distinguish an application from the hoards of overqualified applicants? If anyone can answer this in regards to Hamilton and Bowdion Id appreciate it as well.
But really, they're looking for passion to go to Colgate and in your extracurricular activities. They are very big on volunteer work but I didn't do much volunteer but I demostrated my love for horseback riding in my essays. While they are personal when it comes to reading applications, they still value GPA and SATs very highly. 3.8 average for Class of 2009- that's ridiculous!!!
