Upward Grade Trend

Do colleges give slack to people with a few bad grades (Cs,Ds,Fs) Fresh+Soph year but good grades (primarily As) junior+senior year???

In-state colleges, i mean..

yes

well for a more complicated answer, its much better than the other way around (A's then F's)

as long as your courseload stayed the same, or got harder, you should be alright.

It's better to have an upward trend, but it doesn't excuse for those grades, but it's an in-state school, which is probably focused on rank and test scores.

Good job!

How does a 3.3 Freshman year and 4.0 Sophomore to Senior Year look?

i have this prob, but for the ivies. i got a lot of b's as a frosh and for the first semester of soph year, but when i figured out that i wasnt doing to hot, i buckled down and got a 5/5 weighted (i was one of 3 to do so) even though if you just took my semester grades, im one of the top students at my school, my old grades are dragging me down. i hope colleges will see that i am working hard now (most im sure will) but it will hurt me when its purely stats based. for im ranked 34 outa 360, which is gonna hurt me for the ivies, but i hope they can see past those grades. i think that it may hurt people more at state schools that are purely stats based when compared to colleges that look at everything.
