University of Portland Priority Admission??

Hi everyone,

I just received an email from University of Portland saying that I could have a "priority admission application" due to my high school accomplishments. The special application allows me to save money (no fee) and time (no new essay needed).

Is this for real/do they send this to everyone?

I got the same letter and actually submitted the application. I'm pretty sure it's legit, I mean what would they gain from it being fake?

I'm a parent and they addressed it to me!!! I have attended college fairs with DD, so maybe that is how they found me? I certainly haven't taken the ACT or the SAT since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

A number of schools offer this option to good students as a way to attract them to apply. Many students would not apply otherwise.

I know it's been a year since anyone posted on this thread, but I just applied to the University of Portland using the Common App (I figure, I would love to live in Portland, and it's free with no supplement, so why not?) and selected the "Other fee waiver" option to pay like it said to in the emails, and now I'm not sure what to do...

Common App is saying "You have indicated that you will apply for a fee waiver for this institution's application fee." I've been looking at their website and I can't find anything about it...

I already sent in my application via Priority, and it all went smoothly. If you got an email that said they want you to apply via Priority, then use the link they give you. It is a different application; it's shorter, there's no big essay, and it's free. But if you already applied via Common App, you can't just say you applied priority.
