Questions About Admission to Humboldt State University: Molecular Biology
Hey everyone! This is my first time posting on this website! I just have this problem going on with my admission to HSU. I am a current community college student who is trying to transfer to HSU this Spring of 2013. I originally applied to HSU last Fall for Fall 2012 admission, and I got accepted! The thing is that later I was denied because I was short 4 units of the 60 required. BUMMER! The thing is that I got a D in area A3 (critical thinking) and A1 (oral communication) of the admission standards (don't take 22 units per semester!!). Fortunately, HSU was going to ignore A3 and A1 for Fall 2012 admission. They just told me that I would have to retake them up at HSU. Now the problem is this: I am moving up north on Aug 1st 2012, and I'm doing my last 4 units this Summer with Calculus. I am going to retake A3 with an online Philosophy class, and there is no way to retake A1. I checked the local community college and all their Speech classes are full, and HSU doesn't accept Winter classes for Spring. I would love to stay in Riverside and retake my Speech class, but I am moving. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who was/is in the same boat as me. This is really stressful, and it really sucks that California is having an education budget crisis. There is rumors that HSU won't be taking transfer students from other community colleges, and only from their local colleges. Does anyone know if HSU or the CSUs in general are lenient with their admission standards? Or if what they did for me was a once in a lifetime thing? I really don't want to wait another year to transfer to HSU in 2013. Any help is useful! Thank you for taking time to read my stressful situation lol.
