Wishful thinking?

Hi all, this is probably wishful thinking, but here it goes..

So the majority of Canadians that apply to selective universities seem to have fewer ECs (since we don't need them to get into college, it's only GPA that matters) and a fair number are of Asian descent (correct me if I'm wrong, that is just in my experience). Also, many are applying with math and engineering awards and limited humanities ones. So, for a university that differentiates between Canadians and other internationals, would a white female with decent humanities ECs and an interest in a non-STEM major be favored? ...Or am I entertaining a ridiculous thought?
