Applying out-of-state! (Florida to Texas) Help please!

Hi! I'm an upcoming senior living in Florida who is about to begin college applications for the Fall of 2013. I have a question that has been bothering me for some months now. I lived in Texas for my first two years in high school but after my sophomore year I moved to Florida. Now as apps become available, I've made the decision to only apply to a couple of schools in Texas (Texas-San Antonio, Texas State). When I was in Texas, I was under the Texas Distinguished Graduation Program. In Florida, there is no such thing (that I know of). When I search to see what is required to apply for any Texas schools, it says that students must graduate under either of the Texas Graduation Plans. Problem is, I live in Florida! So, what do I do? I am confused beyond belief. Under both Texas plans, students are required to take Physics. I do not have space on my schedule for physics (Astronomy took its place). Besides physics, I have most classes required since I did live in Texas for two years. So, what do I do? Do I apply for a waiver or what? What do out-of-state students do when applying to Texas schools?

Sorry for the lengthy question! Thanks in advance!

You are not a Texas resident. You do not need to graduate under the Texas Graduation Plan - that's for Texas residents only. You need to see what is required for out of state students to apply to Texas schools.

For example, for Texas State, it says:
Quote:
Per state law, TEC 51.803-51.809, Uniform Admissions Standards (UAS) require all students meet one of the following college readiness standards in order to be eligible for consideration for admission at a Texas Four-Year Public Institution.
•Successfully complete the Recommended or Advanced (Distinguished) High School Program or complete the portion of the program that was available to them; or
•Successfully complete a curriculum that is equivalent* in content and rigor to the recommended or advanced (distinguished) high school program at a high school that is exempt from offering such programs; or
•Satisfy the College Readiness Benchmarks on the SAT or ACT assessment:

SAT- 1500 out of 2400 (Verbal + Math + Writing)
ACT- 18 English, 21 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 24 Science
You would use the SAT or ACT benchmarks.

For any other out of state questions, call the school(s) in question and ask.

You need to pay (a lot) more money than a TX resident.
