Students most benefit by being wonderful human beings who have worked
hard and excelled as best as they can given their unique circumstances. Colleges and society do not benefit when one group of people dominates overall or when any group feels it must dominate or be the majority in a community of Americans because its members are "better," "smarter," etc. Or maybe it's just that "other" members of society don't matter to them.

Well toughyear, you'll have four more years of policies you aren't fond of. The people have spoken apparently.
| four more years ... well,
This issue only matters to families with high school kids which is probably a small minority. So, this can be hardly a voting issue. As a reaction though the court may decide against the UT system in a stronger form in anticipation to the court becoming more liberal during BO's term.

My bestfriend is asian-american and he is really nice dude but when I see UC Berkeley's acceptance rate statistic, I felt so bad. I said to myself "Man, You have no chance to get in this dream school". I am an international student at CCC. Why asian - americans acceptance rate is highest rate any other ethnicity ? It is very interesting because we are (international students) paying TRIPLE tuition but schools have SO LIMITED seats for us. It is very painful...
Obviously, it is quite DISCRIMINATION !

dude23 Would Asian stats be equivalent to that of whites, if Asians produced the same percentage of developmental and athletic hooks as whites?

One has to be careful with overall campus admission stats, since admissions selectivity can vary by division or major at many schools. To the extent that applicants of some ethnic backgrounds may apply preferentially to more selective divisions or majors, that can skew admission rates.

"The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled, 8 to 7, on Thursday that Michigan’s voter-approved 2006 ban on affirmative action was unconstitutional.
The ruling, in Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action v. University of Michigan, was not based on racial discrimination, but rather on a violation of the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of equal protection. The ban, the court said, unfairly placed a special burden on supporters of race-conscious admissions policies." Michigan?s Affirmative Action Ban Is Ruled Unconstitutional - NYTimes.com

From the same article, Quote:
The Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has upheld California's ban, and with the Michigan ruling, the stage may be set for the issue to go before the Supreme Court.
"I think this is very likely to go to the Supreme Court, because there's a direct conflict between the circuits, it’s of great national importance and the 8-7 split on the Sixth Circuit is a signal that some ruling is needed," said Eugene Volokh, a law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, who helped draft the California ban. "The only thing that might get in the way is if the Fisher case decides that all race-based action in education is unconstitutional, which would make it not technically moot, but less important."

It's dishonest. Immoral. Wrong. Could get your acceptance rescinded and all other colleges you apply to put on red alert.
But not illegal.

"Help!"
You don't want help. You want justification. "Race" in College Admission FAQ & Discussion 10
I hope every college you apply to calls your guidance counselor and he/she tells them the fraud you're looking to commit.

| He shouldn't do it because he is not following the directions on the application. But your outrage is misplaced to me. You are getting mad at someone for wanting to play " rule fu." He never would've asked the question had there been no racial preferences.

So how would colleges see someone who is a URM on mom's side but an ORM on dad's side. In other words, would a half Black/half Asian student be at an advantage or a disadvantage.
How would being a first generation college student or poor influence that decision? I feel like there are a lot of Asians whose chances are diminished because of their ethnicity who have parents that didn't go to college. Thus, why Asians are often time pushed so hard to get an education. So would there be no influence?
