toefel question

I am confused about the toefel requirements in us colleges for international students. Is the score of SAT reasoning related to this? I mean if you get a high score in SAT, then toefel is not required or is tofel compulsory? The language of instruction was english in my school.

Confusion is the result of differing rules since each college sets its own as to whether toefl is required. Some colleges accept an SAT critical reading score of some specified (by the college) minimum or above while others require toefl regardless of your SAT score. Also, if English was the language of your school even if from a foreign country where English is not the native language, many schools will accept that without toefl but even those rules vary.

Thus you need to check rules of each college to which you intend to apply.
