Background experience in field of study????

Is having no experience detrimental? Does having experience in field of study help greatly?

Also, what are good ways to get background experience as a HSer in economics ( or business but econ is preferred )

Most colleges don't assume you even HAVE an intended field of study or, if you do, you're apt to change once you enroll. It's neutral.

Don't overthink it.
