I posted this question on another thread and I will pose it here: when dealing with a WL lobby campaign, who particularly did you all lobby? Did you lobby the regional rep/counselor or the dean of admissions? thanks!

Is anyone aware of whats up with georgetown's WL...I havent gotten any word yet and they supposedly sent decision letters out today....Is it inevitably a rejction if you dont egt a call/email, or could this just be adhering to the mail communication only policy georgetown usually has??? Help!!!

Here are some success stories. My daughter got off the Cornell waitlist a week ago, where she has decided to go. Today she just received an email from Duke to tell her she is off the waitlist. She said it's nice to be appreciated, but Cornell it is.

A friend's daughter, who is a day older than my daughter, was not thrilled of the school she was going to. She got off Northwestern, Duke and Cornell's waitlist last week. She is having a very high class problem now.

Both girls have very similar profile and were very disappointed in March. But now they both have good reason to celebrate.

We were all very proactive in lobbying with the admission office. In our case, our college counselor played a very important role. She talked to the admission office/regional rep regularly.

Carnie, we just addressed everything to the Director of Admissions. She probably passes it to regionals, but since choices will not be by region, wanted to make sure it was seen by ultimate decision-maker, who probably just chairs the meetings...

My son's college counselor pretty much told him to write a letter saying that the waitlist school was his first choice etc, but not to bother with anything else, because he wouldn't get off the waitlist anyway ( of course, this is my son's paraphrasing of her words, so please take it with a grain of salt! )
I was a little upset at first, but now my son seems really excited about where he has decided to go, I am almost a little worried about him getting in OFF the waitlist. I don't think it will happen, but I am not sure what he would do if it did. Hopefully, this will all be a moot point in a few days, but for you students who have been accepted off the waitlist, how have your feelings changed about your waitlist school, and the schools you had decided to go to?

Excellent news! Thanks ses. Hopefully some people who really want to go there will be able to-- and spaces will open up elsewhere as well.

Do schools contact you as well to let you know they will *not* be accepting you off the waitlist? Or is no news just bad news?
