Waitlist success stories

i just found out that stanford isn't taking any off its waitlist this year, bummer...and i'm waiting on three more. i'm already not hopeful, but hearing some waitlist success stories would definitely cheer me up, at least to know that someone out there is doing well with this whole process! so what do you say?

my friend said she got a letter in the mail saying they weren't taking any off the waitlist at stanford. i'm currently not at home so i don't know if i got the letter, but if that's what the letter said, then i'm sure they sent it to everyone.

I am not surprised. I'd already seen quite a few CC members turned down Harvard for Stanford even I don't really check out Harvard/Stanford boards that much.

Wow, I didn't even get wait listed at Stanford... Good ole rejection.

Waiting on Duke, but I'm probably not going, unless they wow me with the money. Penn gave me a great fin. aid. package.

Damn... so much for that Stanford waitlist, hope (a little) on Harvards then...

If no luck, I'll see Yankee @ UPenn!

i was waitlisted at four schools last year and was finally, after months of waiting and doubt, was taken off the waiting list at one of them in early july (yea, THAT late)

just stay persistent, send lots of letters, do things that will set you apart from the other droves of wait-listee's, and stay hopeful!

i dunno, i feel like this year, people who got waitlisted got REALLY waitlisted, like to 3 or more schools...maybe it's just the people around me. and it also seems like a super tight year for waitlists too, with yields being high pretty much all around. yeah? it's weird!
