| Clarify if the common app procedures changed this year so that you can't submit applications seperately? |

| ^No, you can still submit apps separately. When you "sign" and click submit, it redirects you to a page with a list of your colleges and you check the ones you want to send the app to before submitting.
But being able to submit apps separately is useless b/c I still can't find a way to edit/upload a different essay. The delete option Rister_Chutophs mentioned is no longer available after you submit an app. Maybe I'm doing something wrong... =/ |

Mark, Just to clarify. There's a delete option for the uploaded essay. Couldn't you upload and send a personal statement to one school, and then go back, delete the essay, upload a different one, and then submit the application with the new essay to another school?
I understand that it is not possible to submit the application to more than one college at the same time and change the essay within the group, but there is still a delete button for removing essays in between submissions

The delete and upload buttons are only functional before submission of the Common Application. After submission, those two buttons are "disabled," and only the view document button is accessible.
So, the clarification is that your response to the Personal Statement question will be the same for all submissions. |

| Can you submit a slightly different application to each school.
For example, on EC that I plan to continue in college isn't offered at some schools, so I would uncheck the "Will Continue" box on the EC page. |

ALSO: i have been involved with theater since 7th grade... does that fall under the add'tl info section?( since theres no way to check off 7th and 8th grade- or do i just list that under honors /positons held etc)
did we ever come to a consesus about where a camp-like summer program belongs? |

| Ah, so you can change your application slightly for each school, but NOT for the essay - which is probably the one part people WOULD want to change from school to school.
The only other option I can think of is the "Will Continue" check box in the EC section that I mentioned earlier - since some schools have different ECs available than others.
How should one go about the "additional information?". I wrote a little blurb about how I want to write in the college paper about music - one of my passions - is that too much like another essay? Someone else said they listed AP scores...I have high scores, so is it ok to do that?
I'm unsure about this section, or why they give you SO MUCH room for it - even more than in the extended essay. |

| Is it all right to have some overlap between the awards you list in the "academic honors" section and the EC honors section? In other words, is it all right to list an award in two different places on the common app? |

| Someone earlier said it is; it just shows your interest for that activity and your success.
I have a question related to that: I have a lot of important prizes at science national contests or olympiads, so many that I don't have enough room to mention all of them in the academic award section. The most important EC for me is preparing for olympiads, and I am supposed to write these awards in the leadership and award row; but it's imposiible for me to write all of them in a row. I was thinking of 3 solutions:
1) rewriting my most important award;
2) writing something like "see the academic award section";
3) writing a prize I didn't have enough space to mention in the academic award section.
Which do you think is the best solution? Or do you have another suggestion about how should I organize it? If I do the third solution, should I mention the most important award in the EC section and not mention it in the academic section? Please help! |

| For the activities section, are you supposed to select the general category and in the box that appears give its name? For example I would select "community service" and then enter underneath name the organization?
My problem is that the name of the organization does not fit in the box. What to do? I could give the acronym but since it's a local organization, no one would know what it stood for. |
