| Would it help to have others (teachers, counselor, etc.) call on my behalf? I don't want them to think I'm desperate....but the truth is that I would do anything to get in. I love washu.... |

| There's an official name for those? I thought they were just letters in which you explain why you want to go to a particular school. Does that mean you have to state your intent to register or your chances are significantly lowered? |

| rer, i don't know if i would go as far as having teachers call on your behalf, but i would definitely say have your counselor call.
sup, i know the UCs call them SIRs, but either way it's just a shorter way of saying "the letter you send to let them know you pick them."
oblivion, if you think the rest of your grades show a good performance, go ahead and send them - if it's going to help you, do it. it's your call - i don't really know all of your grades.
the hardest part about waiting now is that there's not even a specific date. it could be may 10th, it could be june 30th. and i could possibly not get a call at all. yuck. |

| Does anyone know the waitlist statistics for NYU Tisch. I can't find them anywhere. For some reason, NYU is super secretive about the admission statistics for the film school. |

| People say to stay in touch with their admissions counselors at their preferred school- what do I say? "Hey, still incredibly interested in Barnard, would sell soul to go, etc."? I don't want to be pushy but I want to be at the forefront of their minds should they go to the waitlist. I won't have any more updates -- I'm sending in the last of my new recommendations tomorrow -- but just sitting back and waiting for whatever will happen to actually happen isn't my style. |

| well...Bartlet..there are people who gets accepted off the waitlist without writing anything....as long as you said that it is your first choice, there is nothing you can really do. Like I said, I send an email to them twice. Once telling them that WashU is my first choice. Twice by updating them with new feeds and telling them that they are still my first choice.
For the hint : I received a letter stating that they too are sorry that I didn't get accepted ( since I was waitlisted) and that other schools will be glad that I will be attending their institution.....
even with this letter....it didn't make me stop trying....its still my first choice.... |
