honestly, i don't think the school is really going to care if students and alumnus write letters unless they've done something really huge for the school

I got wait listed at a couple of places... I was just wondering if its ok if I call them up and ask them to open my file and point out any particular weakness they want me to concentrate on?

i got a call from a 314 number today and i was freaking out b/c i thought it was washu and it turned out to be some data survey for hs students thing.. i was really mad.

trackie, don't give up hope! A friend of mine was accepted off the waitlist in late June last year, and she's not even a quarter as qualified as you.

Now I have become weary of phone calls, expecting it to be my waitlist schools.

it's awful to hear when people say that you could still get called. yes, but the chances are now exponentially smaller.

i got off NYU's waitlist

i followed trackie's advice to pretty much everything

i would prob not put any other colleges u may have gotten into in ur letter(i mean u could if u want, but i didnt)..it may look to them like u got other "better" offers and that u wont go to their school even if u get off the waitlist
