| I really feel so indifferent about the schools that I did get into that I can't really be bothered to care. Sure, I'll drive to Miami for the open house. Sure, they'll get my deposit against my will. But I'm not going to like a second of it.
I'm just so in love with Barnard and Emory, which was my last realistic hope for escaping this state. Emory only wants the waitlist notice back and perhaps a letter, no new recs, nothing! It's ridiculous. |

| Waitlisted at Dickinson (match), American (safety), Pitzer (Match), Connecticut College (low reach), and Skidmore (match).
Accepted at UPitt (safety), St. Marys College of MD (safety), and Bard College (low reach).
Of course, after this years admissions numbers those matches and low reaches are probably considered reaches for me. I just wish I had known...
I want nothing more in the world than to get into Pitzer |

| i'm sorry you were waitlisted, trackie! i was waitlisted at cornell and penn. is it acceptable to send a letter of interest and updated information to both schools? i definitely prefer penn and i'm not sure it's right to tell cornell that i would accept an offer of admission when i would actually go to penn should they accept me as well. advice? |

| Trackie10x,
Supports!! Been following your thread and cheering you on.
Got waitlisted at 3 LACs myself
Reading your thread has been inspiring and helpful for me to face my own waitlist dilemmas. |

| zlh, DEFINITELY send information to both schools. i would say you have to reserve your "i would absolutely go here if accepted" for penn, but tell cornell "cornell is one of my top schools and would be given preference when choosing my school" or something along those lines. let them know you want them, but save your end-all-be-all for penn.
thank you, skygirl! good luck with your LACs and don't give up!!
okay i'm going to share a quote with you guys - it's from grey's anatomy, which i LOVE:
"if there's just one piece of advice i can give you, it's this - when there's something you really want, fight for it, don't give up no matter how hopeless it seems. and when you've lost hope, ask yourself if ten years from now, will you wish you gave it one more shot? because the best things in life, they don't come free."
if you want it, let them know. i guess i feel like i should be letting washu know EXACTLY how much i love them because i'm such a passionate person, i think. i'm all or nothing. so give it your all. |

| oh no, bartlet! did you apply regular decision to tulane? i bet if you did, it was because of that - they had so many applicants they had to waitlist TONS of them just because they didn't know how the yield would turn out with the big increase in applications. where did you get in, and where do you think you'll end up?
this is definitely "the year of the waitlist." |

| Yeah, I applied RD to Tulane... It was just a massive shock for me. I got into NYU, Miami, Wisconsin, Brandeis, Syracuse, BU, Binghamton, and Stony Brook. NYU's my dream school, but the financial aid was horrible. I guess I'll be submitting a deposit to Miami (my tuition's completely covered by scholarships) and start praying that Barnard or Emory take me off the list. I'd care a little more about Tulane if my allergies weren't triggered by simply being in New Orleans.
If, God forbid, WashU or any of your other waitlist schools don't work out, which school is getting your deposit? |
