I read the "SAT Scoring Policies from Top Schools | Admission Sync" and I cannot believe it.

Yale places NO WEIGHT on the writing section? (which is a VERY VERY good news for me) It doesn't seem like a thing that ivyleague schools would do.

How credible is this list? Who is it produced by?

(as a side note, is 1490 (CR+M) a competitive score for yale? my friend wants to know...)

No, my god, please do NOT retake a 2230 - you are competent enough.

My writing score is terrible (< 650). But my M+V is > 1500.
I got into some great schools, rejected from Yale, btw. I guess writing score does not matter much.

Wellesley doesn't consider the writing section, either. Bummer on this end.

jmanco49- That is very good news for me. I am just wondering. What kind of credentials does that website have? Seems kind of random that out of all of the Ivies, Yale does not count the writing section at all. Does it apply for the students of 2009? or just for this past year.

They see it since all 3 scores are next to each other. I dont know if they consider it but they see it and are probably expecting at least a 700+ even if they dont consider it. Its not like the cover their eyes and tell their secretaries to scribble the writing scores out.
