My D was accepted to an OOS flagship university, 1 of 200 students in the Honor Program, received a prestigious scholarship. Last week-end, honors students were invited on a priority status to chose classes for the fall under the guidance of departments, ID card, dorm room, etc... I cannot believe how good it feel to no longer stress about college acceptance. We can moved on with our life... that is something to rejoice about

Understand acceptance %'s

Congratulations to all who have been admitted! Wow! To those who are still waiting, hang in there! Keep hoping! There's a lot of misunderstanding with admission rates right now especially in CA due to cutbacks. Admissions are reporting applications received and class size goal in their immediate information, but are not talking so much about total admits--the crucial number in admission percentages. So it looks like UC's admissions in particular are at 10% but that's not true. UC's are admitting about 2 1/2-3 times the class size goal. Example: UCLA and UCB will admit around 12,000-12,500 kids out of the over 50,000-55,000 applications received, hoping for a class of around 4,800. So admit rate is around 20-23% roughly. So keep your hopes up!
