When do the UC's start sending out acceptance/rejection letters?!

I've heard that the UC's start sending out letters in Mid-March. I've also heard that they send out letters starting March 1st. Anyone know the real date the UC's send out decision letters?

It varies. UCR lets people know first day in Feb. I'm assuming UCM does the same. I heard UCI has been notifying this past week. My cousin got into UCLA and Berkeley like 2 weeks ago, but she had like perfect stats(2300 SAT,34 ACT).

they start the 15th of March, I believe that Davis and Santa Cruz is the 15th,Santa Barbra the 17th, and Berkeley is the evening of the 26th, all the rest of them should come out in between these days, my guess is one of the 20-something days. If you log in to your accounts on all the UC's to which you have applied you will see when your status changes. In addition, you will receive an email notification to check your account. ( UCLA has not allowed us to create an account yet)

oh ok thanks! that really helped :)
    what about UCSD?
  • lanchiklanchik Posts: 50Registered User Junior Member
UCSD said that they will begin anywhere from the 15th on to the 30th, but my guess is around the 20-something like it was last year, but you never know. So check your email regularly and there will be an update asap, also if you check here people will post when theirs are posted and chances are yours will be as well. Good Luck, maybe I'll see you in school, lol

I hear UCI and UCSB are beginning of March. They start on the 1st I believe, but will continue for a week or 2.

and korenboi your cousin probably got the regents notification, its not an "official" letter yet.

yeah i did ( i applied to all of them except UCM and UCR)

Ruskie, i don't think its from March 1 because on their official site it for SB it says from the 17th, i'm not sure about Irvine that possible.

UCI sent out some admissions a few days ago, but it varies for every school.

    I don't get "bumps"

UCR already is sending out their first batches

UCI sent out some last week I've heard, continue through March

    Most beginning-mid march

and rejections usually come at the end of March

What about UCLA transfer students...especially those who are interested in majoring in Theater and have auditioned and all that...does anyone know when those are sent out? I've heard different dates all the time, some transfers I know found out early march..but the website says april 15th...

Hi, I don't know if this is even the right thread to ask this question in, but here goes...
How impossible is it for an out of state kid to get into a UC school? Specifically, my daughter is gung-ho to go to UCSCruz and I just don't know if it is a possibility. She is in an IB program good grades (3.8), not great, great SATs 1600...but she is a junior.
I wonder if some of you guys that are applicants are out of staters? Any thoughts, even where to redirect this post?
    Thanks!

The stats for instate and out of state are similar, so the OOS difficulty is over-rated, IMO. UCs focus more on gpa than test scores, but a 1600 is still on the low end for UC. However, with the exception of a few specialized programs, I don't think that the UCs are worth $50k OOS costs -- finaid is poor even for instaters..

yeah GPA is a lot more important

students with 1500-1600 SAT I score applying to UCLA and UCB.
around 10-15% get in, that means 1 or 2 out of every 10.

It's straight from the official UC stats site!
