I have a question about the income. So my parents filed taxes jointly last year so i don't know how to fill in the individual income amount. what did you guys do?
also do i need to fax any tax forms or anything like that? if not, what's stopping me from lying about my parents income?

I don't know about your first question, but I can answer the second. You will have to fax your tax forms, etc. to colleges, as well as complete the CSS Profile and FAFSA. Eventually, they will know (I'm almost certain that anything involving finaid will require copies of forms).
And keep in mind, once a university finds that there's fraud on a student's application, the admission offer can be withdrawn, the degree rescinded...etc.
Actually, as for the first, aren't there different lines on the 1040 for each parent's income?

There are different lines on the 1040, plus your parents get different paycheck stubs. They should be able to tell you what they made individually.
TEACHER RECS: completed!
APPLICATION: submitted!
COUNSELOR STUFF: in progress. It takes 48 to process a fax! SEND NOW! UGH!

Most versions of IRS Form 1040 combine the incomes of two spouses who file jointly. Each spouse should have some idea what he or she made individually, for answering those questions on the QuestBridge application. The household income QuestBridge is looking for is the federal "adjusted gross income," which is at the bottom of the first page (and top of the second page) of most versions of Form 1040 I have seen.

I 'd root for her anyway but now my kid is repeating 11th grade and no longer running, totally root for her,
and you, Obstinate, you lucky kid! Brown must have heard your plea-but now you want Columbia? - it's OK I will see you around on Broadway!
Thanks Purple Turtle plus 30 some other kids for changing my son's life.
Good luck everyone, you are all golden.

So I just got my new September ACT scores last night...improved by 1 point (35). Should I print out the online score and tell my counselor to fax it, and list it on my application? Would it even count for Match? Thanks.

Congrats on the great score tomjonesistheman. I thought scores from the Sept. ACT were eligible for the Match. My D submitted her Sept. score and she printed it out from the ACT site and she faxed it herself to QB. Definately put it on your application!!!
Make sure you send a cover sheet with it.

@bears and dogs
I truly can't decide which one I'd want to go to more. I'm hoping I can become a finalist so I can apply to both. I would be excited to go to either!
