Did you check out the website? It says that it you take the October SAT or September ACT and foward it to the college you're applying to, it still counts. So you have one more chance to get a higher score. If you aren't a finalist, it just releases you from all binding contracts and allows you to apply early action or decision anywhere you like. Either way, being part of QuestBridge lets colleges know your financial decision and they can offer Aid based on those decisions. So no, its not a complete waste.

Mare, this is from the FAQ's from the site you linked me to. This is a post bac program, for people who already have a 4 year degree. Either way, you are not a legacy, and for a program like QB, that is a good thing!

How do you think QB would view a senior applying one year and then applying again as a senior due to a personal / family situation?

You can only apply as a "senior" so if due to something you had to fall back a year, you would still be eligible, and you should address the issues in your essays.

What if I need to finish 2 classes to be officially classified as a senior this year (which I should be able to do within the semester). So I'll be a senior this year--Can I apply only after I complete the 2 classes or while I'm taking the classes?

If a personal family situations cause me to fallback again to a senior at the start of next year, (from what GA21012MOM wrote it seems I can apply again if a senior) do you think QB will view me as having too many problems?

Oh, I see. You should be a senior, but are two credits behind? You can only apply when you are a senior, and will be graduating that calender year. It seems you will have to wait a year, correct?

I will be able to graduate this year as a senior if I finish 2 classes. The 2 classes can be completed this Fall 2009 semester, so I think I will be a senior this year.

Sorry I re-read what I wrote, it's not too clear what I'm saying.

I will be able to graduate this year as a senior if I finish 2 classes and attend Fall & Spring semesters. The 2 classes can be completed this Fall 2009 semester, so I should be able to be a senior this year.
But, I'm not sure if situations will cause me to miss the required Spring semester, even though the classes and credits needed will be completed.
So after the 2 classes are completed, I will be senior status with enough credits to graduate. But even with enough credit to graduate, there are attendance requirements in Fall and Spring semesters. So I might fallback to senior if I have to miss time in the Spring semester.

@123q: You should be fine applying to QB- just make sure that you keep with your graduation requirements and they'll accept your application.

@xctf: I'll cross-post here with Mare_Crisium; you won't be submitting the 1940 for finalist status, but if you make finalist and took the Oct/Sept tests you can have them forwarded. That said, a 1940 doesn't remotely diqualify you; that's exactly the average score for QB finalists. As far as non-finalist advantages- there are several. Read through this thread and on the QB website FAQ.

@alexandrafitzmor: what do you mean by "you wont be submitting the 1940 for finalist status"? Don't you have to submit SAT scores in the QB application? NOW, I know I can submit later Sat/Act scores once I am a finalist.

2009 QB applicants, forewarning information.

2008 QB = same questions asked & answered - lots of nervous posts at Submit deadline ('server' blockages) - lots of 'waiting' posts at Finalist Announcement and finally, posts of Matches or NOT.

Scary stuff.

My QB app 99% done - but waiting a few more weeks before the big SUBMIT push.

Who's applying for the new Quest for Excellance awards??
I might give it a try.

(Now, if only I were Native American Indian.............)

PLEAse...........Help with my remaining 1%...........

Okay, I have 99% completed the QB application.

I would like to include my resume in the additional application section since it has a lot more detail about my variuos employment and activities. My resume is three pages and is more than 300 word limit.

There is no box to upload the resume like there is on the common application.

Anyone have any ideas?
