@Terp: CM is no longer a QB partner, but it doesn't mean that you can no longer apply there. Just because their endowment fell enough to remove them from the QB list, it does not mean that it fell as low as to stop offering copious amounts of aid to many low income students. You can still apply through the CommonApp if you have all of your financial aid stuff done.

Ya I know, I was considering ranking it #1 if I became a finalist but oh well, I'm dirt poor so I'll hopefully get aid.

Thanks for all your help

Hello, I am applying through QB and since I transferred in between my junior and senior years I received recommendations from my teachers in my junior year on paper. Is it possible to send these letters by fax or thourgh the postal service rather than filling out the required forms?

Thanks!

@mifune: No. You're going to have to either type them up or find some way to get them sent to you electronically. If you can't, I'd recommend you contact QB to work something special out.

@flyingllama: Great job on the French! Was it with listening? I would most definitely recommend retaking the SAT- it is easier to compare your scores since everyone takes them. If you get a higher math portion score, its practically saying the same thing, and you can raise all three sections.

@raechelli: Is the reason you're putting arrows between SAT2 scores because you've already retaken them? You do realize that you can't take both tests (SAT1 and SAT2) on the same date, right? If you're truly that competitive and you believe the SAT score was a total fluke, retake it and explain that your old score was a mistake. There isn't much you can do and passing up an opportunity up like this for something ridiculous like that doesn't make much sense. Talk to QB, I'm sure they'll be glad to help you out.

Also two more less common questions.

1. Are Dominicans (from the Dominican Republic) considered an URM?

2. Am i at a complete disadvantage now because i just found out that another girl from my school is doing QB too (a good friend of mine)? She is also Dominican and has better grades than i do, but with a less rigorous corse load and her parents make like 3 times what my parents do....

I love her to death and im wishing her the best of luck, but it's making me totally depressed lol

Here's a scenario-

You are a QB finalist, and have ranked 3 colleges for college match.

1) Yale
2) Princeton
3) Swarthmore

You are rejected by Yale, but accepted by Princeton and Swarthmore. Princeton is non-binding, but Swarthmore is binding. Would you be forced to go to Swarthmore if you reject Princeton?

I don't think that would happen because you only get matched to one school. If you match Princeton, then you don't even find out about Swarthmore. Since Princeton is higher on your list, you would get matched to Princeton only, and if you still wanted to see if you can get into Swarthmore you would have to go RD.

^ I think (not sure) but you are only matched with 1 school - so if you are matched w/Princeton (#2) although it is non-binding - you will not know if #3 Swarthmore matched you and would have to apply Reg. Dec. to Swarthmore - if Swathmore accepts you Reg. Dec. - you would have to the end of date to accept either Princeton or Swarthmore.

Dominicans

@Ju_liaa - RU applying as an International or do you have U.S. citizenship?
Dominican Reopublic = Isle of Hispanola = Hispanic = URM???

What's a poor ordinary white guy from a good 'neighborhood' to do for a 'hook' here! LOL! Oh Yeah - (I forgot) - see beginning of thread - I'm amazing!!! (We ALL are - right?)

By the way - What does ORM stand for?? didn't find it on the 'list'....

Leaving tomorrow - will catch up when I get back next week.
