I have a question about an old transcript from several years ago, i had taken several courses through a community college and really messed it up, either i let the class be dropped or finished with an "f". The question is, if i go to attend a different community college and dont tell them i have attended college at all, would they be able to find out, id really like to start a clean slate,so when i apply for nursing school, my past wont be there to haunt me, i was just overworked and a bad marriage, anyhow, does anyone know or can help me with my question?

OR LETS SAY THAT I DO SEND MY BAD TRANSCRIPT INTO THE NEW SCHOOL,WILL THOSE GRADES SHOW UP ON MY TRANSCRIPTS AT THE NEW SCHOOL? OR WILL THEY BE ONLY USED FOR ADMISSION PURPOSES AND THEY KINDA GO AWAY

Every time you apply to an accredited college or university in the USA you are required to submit transcripts from every other accredited college or university in the USA that you have ever attended. Last week, last month, thirty years ago, it doesn't matter. You have to provide the transcripts. This has less to do with you as a potential student than it does with the colleges and universities maintaining their accreditation. In other words, they do it to keep their peer institutions happy.

If your new community college is "Open Admission" you can probably be admitted even with the bad academic records. Part of the reason for open admission institutions is to provide you with multiple chances to succeed in life. Since your old transcripts are "several years ago", chances are that you now have your act together and will do much better. The admissions office at the new community college is fully aware of that, and most likely will be more than willing to help you re-start your studies.

When you apply for transfer, the nursing school admissions office will look at the bad old transcripts and the new (and most likely very good) transcripts, and say "Here's one more applicant who took a few years to figure out what they want to do in life, and gives every sign of being successful here."

Send the old transcripts and stop worrying about this. Most people have some hideous course grades somewhere in their transcripts. The colleges are fully aware of this. What is important is what you do from here on in.

Grades don't transfer but credit for any course you made a C or better in will probably transfer for credit.
