Will a 2200 SAT (700+ sections) garuntee me acceptance to Binghamton?

Depends on your GPA. Also they might reject you if they think your using them as a safety.

Flipper519: I'm not. Like I said, other reqs. are almost below par. So I don't think they would have an issue with that.

It's hard to really say then. I don't think you could be 100% guaranteed admission but a 2200 is above the mean accepted SAT score. It all really comes down to your essays,recs, GPA, and EC's.

If your CR and M are both above 700, you have a great shot.

Test scores aren't enough. You need a strong GPA with as a decent rigor of your high school curriculum.

They look for test scores, GPA, rigor of classes, and teacher recs.

Yes, but we are talking about only a decent school. I'm in the state, and 2200 is much higher than their median. My academic gpa or rigor is definitely not that high. I have heard that state schools put a huge emphasis on SAT scores. Can you verify this?

If you don't get in I'd be very very surprised. As long as you didn't completely bomb or fail any classes and you never went to jail. Your in.

The test score is not enough. They look at the test score, the GPA, and the rigor of your curriculum. EC's are not as important.

From their website:
Average High School GPA
93 (mid 50%: 91-96)

Definitely apply but remember that there are no guarantees. The competition (even for SUNY's) is strong. I know of a kid that got into John Hopkins, Valderbilt, and Rollins but got flat out rejected by Geneseo (instate NY student).

I go to a prestigious school in NY - Bronx Science. I have an 87 with no AP's from Fresh-Junior year. 1 AP senior year, one honors class senior year. EC - Indoor, Cross Country track. Regents - very very bad (failed 2 will retake in Jan, hoping for 90+ in each and then send aps.) Can you take that information along with a 2200 SAT and give me a percentage?

It's something called "Tufts Syndrome" where colleges that feel an applicant is extremely overqualified for their school will reject or waitlist the applicant in order to increase the yield rate.

OK Well Bronx Science is a very good school and now I think you will probably get in (if you do well on the regents). However, try to definitely bring up the regents and ask your counselor to remove the failed regents from your high school transcript.

Definately NOT guaranteed admission to SUNY Bing with just one of their criteria being met. Great SAT without a supporting GPA can raise a red flag for academic competency and future success...if you do not gain admittance, they are much more likely to offer admittance as a transfer if you maintain a GPA over 3.5 at another college.

Wait,my guidance counselor has the power to do that?
So, say during my next College meeting, I slip a twenty his way on his desk, could he actually do that?

And one more thing, say I dont pass the two regents, this is just hypothetical, and i definitely will with 90+. But will that be an automatic denial?
