senior year first quarter grades and the SAT....

Hi, I'm a senior and I have two questions and it would be great if someone can help me out.
1. I know that the first two quarter grades in senior year are important.
But what if I messed up one of the subjects... and did fine in all the other subjects for the first quarter? ("Messed up"=average around 85?)
My science grade dropped from 95 last year to 85.... and that's a huge drop IMO.
But the other classes, I'm doing find with... it's just this one class I'm struggling with this quarter.
If I want to apply to ivy leagues in RD, would this hurt me ALOT?
What if I manage to pull up this grade in the second quarter?

Currently I have several ivy league schools on my RD college list... should I revise this list considering the senior year grades?

2. My overall SAT score is ok, but my CR is only 700
Should I take the SAT again this week to bring it up to +750? or is that waste of my time?

thanks guys

well, whether your grade drop hurts you depends on your GPA overall. you seem to be a good student, with a B being a "bad" grade, and CR as "only" a 700.
given your mindset, your other stats must be pretty good.

ivy's should not be anybody's only choices, make sure you do your research and pick schools that REALLY fit your environment (work hard/play hard -balanced, or school is life?.. diversity of population.. campus location..) and most especially, if you have a major in mind, the school that will get you on track right away to your future goal. both ivys and non-ivys may have what you want, apply to those that you feel their "whole package" fits you.

with that said, if you think the ivys have what you want, go for it! course load, EC's and ethnicity (cough) will still play a role, along with the other parts of the app, but you seem to be fairly well qualified.
and if you're truly not happy with your SAT score, and you have the time, just take it. it can only help you.

don't stress!
good luck!!
