are 5s in Calc, Physics C, Chem APs, 800 in math, phy, chem SATs, a 4.0 GPA for a science student, and a really cool essay enough to prove that I have the aptitude for engineering at the elite schools without having done any research work and won any Olympiads, competitions, quizzes related to science but a good ECA in other things PROVIDED I intend to double major it with economics(very imp. interest)???

Your accomplishments show you have aptitude. Problem is, top schools get way more qualified applicants than they have room for. That's why they look at essays, recs, ECs, etc. to decide to admit. So while you are qualified, admission is going to depend on the rest of the factors.

Students with perfect stats and perfect ECs/awards/research get turned down by the ivies each year. It's a crapshoot. Be sure to have some other reach/match/safeties.

If you want to study engineering and work as a practicing engineer, then your stats would make you likely to get into most of the top ENGINEERING colleges (MIT and Caltech being a couple of exceptions). I'd venture to say your engineering education would be as good or better than at more selective places. If you're looking at so-called elite colleges (such as an Ivy) which offer engineering, then you'll just be one of many with outstanding credentials (some better, some worse). There may be advantages to attending an elite college, but the quality of your engineering education won't be one. Apply to a selection of reaches (what you seem to want) with some matches/safeties (keeping in mind the financial aspect, too) and you'll be fine.
